Anurag on B-town actors

Today, Anurag Kashyap is a known director. Once upon a time, he was rejected by all big stars.

But now, they want to work with him because he is someone who makes meaningful cinema. The director, in his initial days, struggled a lot. Today, after all the struggles, he has made a mark.

“I have not got a break in one day. It took me a long time and long struggle to establish myself. But I never cribbed. I always took it easy,” says Anurag Kashyap.

He could have become a big director with his first debut, but as he always works with newcomers, it seems it was late, but he clarifies, “ I never run behind stars. I have always worked with newcomers; not only the actors but even the singers, composers are new in my films.

I believe in one thing – when you give work to a newcomer, they work hard and have no starry tantrums. I keep looking for good talent because it’s fun working with newcomers. They are hungry for perfection and put their soul to their work. They will go to any level. They don’t have any ego, and they submit themselves to the film,” adds Anurag Kashyap.

Right now, he is working on short films. “We are launching a portal which will look for young talents. I will focus on short films. There are other people who will be involved with other things. I’ll mentor talents who want to make films. Its my uncle’s company called Tum Bhi,” says Anurag.
